It’s all about homes and families for Vanessa Deskie!
Vanessa switched careers into real estate in 2012 after 20 years in the customer service and collections field. “It was very depressing having to call people asking for money to pay past due bills. I wanted to connect with people in a more positive way. My father built houses. My husband designs buildings. Helping folks find a home they’d want to buy seemed like a good fit for me!”
Earning her real estate license while working full-time and after her school-aged children went to bed made for long days for Vanessa, but turned her into an early riser AND a night owl and an avid learner—habits and routines that continue today.
“My real estate magazines and journals keep me informed of the latest practices well into the night. And first thing in the morning I want to be the ‘early bird’ to inform my clients of properties that become available on the MLS that might interest them.”
Working behind the scenes to keep her clients updated is her “signature style.” The reward for Vanessa is a satisfied client. She admits, “There is nothing like seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces at the settlement table.”
Vanessa loves being a part of the Zuber Realty organization. “I felt at home the minute I walked in the door almost 9 years ago. Richard Zuber is an absolute professional. He is always available to answer any questions I may have. And my colleagues are always willing to lend a hand. They have been a wealth of information. The organization’s commitment to community involvement satisfies my calling to serve people. And I especially enjoy working as a team with other agents and staff members.”
Community Involvement
Family comes first for Vanessa as a wife, mother of four and grandmother of three granddaughters. She and her husband Richard are both graduates of Boyertown High School who returned to their hometown after living in Texas and South Carolina.
Her involvement since 1995 in the international fraternal Order of the Eastern Star connects her to the local community and continues a family tradition. Her mother and grandmother were Eastern Star members and her father and grandfather were Shriners in the Masonic Order.
In her family life and in her work in real estate, Vanessa strives to uphold the mission of the Order: “striving to take good people, through uplifting and elevating associations of love and service…through precept and example…dedicated to Charity, Truth and Loving Kindness.”
