Who knew? Jeanie Papst, a 30-year veteran real estate agent, is a ballroom dancer-in-training, practiced in the waltz, the fox trot, the mambo, the rumba, and swing dancing.
When Jeanie Papst realized that her days of following her son’s athletic adventures in baseball, football, soccer, wrestling, and swimming were over, she asked herself, “What’s next?”
“Next” turned out to be ballroom dancing lessons with her husband—a Christmas gift from their son who knew they were devoted fans of “Dancing with the Stars.”
And for the past 9 years, on the couple’s weekly date night, they show up for lessons to learn and perfect their moves.
Friends are surprised to learn of their hobby, one that “gives them something to fight about,” according to Jeanie. But when they hit the floor at wedding receptions, people watch in amazement. “He’ll never admit he likes to dance—he’d never danced before, and the perfectionist in him is sometimes annoyed at my more casual approach,” Jeanie shares. But, the couple enjoys the camaraderie with other dancers and the opportunity once a month to dress up and perform—especially when there is live music to challenge their flexibility.
Experience Managing Market Challenges and Changes
Flexibility is always needed in maneuvering the real estate market. To re-assess a property or not? To skip inspections or not? Price higher or at recent market value? Pay buyer’s fees or not? With inventory so low, frantic buying means decisions must be made quickly, but always wisely. Jeanie’s experience in managing the market’s many challenges and changes over many seasons, like her dancing, provides her with the knowledge of the steps to take for successful sales.
She prides herself in knowing her clients—their needs and preferences—their budgets and special challenges. Providing personalized service, giving smart advice, and making sure she’s available whenever her clients need her are promises she makes…and keeps…always making sure her clients are happy. Jeanie loves her work, her grandchildren, and her dancing, and has plenty of energy to spare and share!
